A man of few words, Riley is a professional at being professional. He's discreet. He has a chip on his shoulder from the country chewing him up and spitting him back out, but he has a job to do and by god he will do it. His latest assignment is guarding an oversexed future Olympian, but Giles pays handsomely and has friends that use him, too. It's his most lucrative move yet. He has never been to Saltburnt before. It's very much not his style.
BACKSTORY
Idealistic, the golden boy in his parents eyes, Riley graduated high school, joined the army and never looked back. He had big, bright ideas and he wanted to fight for Uncle Sam. He rose up in the ranks, but the military hardened him. Watching the people you fight for and beside die tends to deaden a guy. He transferred to a black ops retrieval team (saving people sounded better than killing them) but learned retrieval had a lot of different definitions. Quietly, he transferred into the secret service.
Even more quietly, he was discharged.
He did light work for a low-profile security company, working events, guarding celebrities and the "elite" Americans. He didn't like working under anyone, so he took a friend's advice and went out on his own. He has less qualms about what he does now. Money is money and everyone dies. Some things can't be helped.
His latest assignment is, Buffy Summers - but it's glorified babysitting. Alicent, Giles' "friend" also tapped him for her own work he did on his own time. It's a living.
